The data resource links provides data and statistical information required on many grant applications. The organization is by subject heading, although any site may have additional information available.  If there is not a data link with information you require for a grant, please contact the office and we will work with you to locate the necessary data for your grant submission.

    Nevada System of Higher Education Data Tool

    The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has a new tool to extract and analyze education and workforce development data.

    New! State of Nevada Health Needs Assessment - 2015

    The Nevada State Health Needs Assessment (NSHNA) was conducted using a systematic method of examining primary and secondary health data to illustrate health needs and challenges facing residents in each county and region of the State of Nevada. The Nevada Core Health Indicators were used as a guideline for completing community health assessments.

    Healthy Southern Nevada Data Link..

    Healthy Southern Nevada is a web-based source of community health information and population data provided by the Southern Nevada Health District and community partners. We invite planners, policy makers, the public and community members to use the site as a tool for community assessment, strategic planning, identifying best practices for improvement, collaboration and advocacy.

    The Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) data portal provides useful data and links to get information about Nevada's economy and its consumers.

    Nevada Geographic & Demographic Data (Referred to as Appendix B)

    Contains an overview of information about Nevada’s geography and population by County.

    National Center for Children in Poverty (National and State Profiles)

    The National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP) is one of the nation's leading public policy centers dedicated to promoting the economic security, health, and well-being of America's low income families and children.  The NCCP has national as well a state profile data on demographics an/or early childhood.  The profile can be for "all children" or  "young children." 

    Nevada Profile of Hunger, Poverty, and Federal Nutrition Program

    Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) report updated on December 1, 2013 that provides a profile of demographics, poverty and food insecurity in Nevada.

    Nevada State Demographer

    The Nevada State Demographer’s office is funded by the Nevada Department of Taxation and is part of the Nevada Small Business Development Center.  It is responsible for conducting annual population estimates for Nevada’s counties, cities, and unincorporated towns.     U.S. Bureau of the Census

    Data can be sorted by state, location and includes information on population, housing economics, ethnicity, race, age, and other demographic information.  NOTE:  This information is only updated every ten-years.

    U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

    Contains information in employment (civilian) and unemployment, seasonal, wage and can be sorted by state, local and regional areas.

    U.S. Department of Agriculture – Economic Research Service

    State fact sheets provide information on population, income, education, employment, federal funds, organic agriculture, farm characteristics, farm financial indicators, top commodities, and exports, for each State in the United States. Links to county-level data are included when available.

    UNR Technical Studies and Reports

    UNR:  University Center Technical Reports cover many areas of research and outreach of the University Center. Areas covered are analysis of socio-economic data, feasibility studies, industrial targeting and economic/fiscal impact studies.  (County level-data)

      Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Data Warehouse 

      The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) allows users to view national-level summaries of data, including specific state data and statistics, about HRSA's activities across key program areas.

      Centers for Disease Control & Prevention

      Atlas is an interactive tool allowing access to the CDC’s active data bases inclusive of HIV, AIDS, TB, Hepatitis and sexual transmitted disease conditions sortable by State.

      Kaiser Family Foundation

      The work focuses on key health policy issues at the national and state level, including Medicaid and health reform, access to care, and health care financing for the low-income population. The Commission provides timely, relevant and trusted information and analysis on health care coverage and access to care, the role of Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and coverage of the uninsured to inform policy discussions. The Commission collects and analyzes policy and data at the state and federal level on eligibility and enrollment; spending, coverage, and care delivery; long term services and supports; and Medicaid’s role for high-need populations and dual eligible beneficiaries.  Can be sorted by condition or State. the other site would be www.statehealthfacts.org.  

       Nevada Children's Data Center 

      The DataCenter provides a centralized location for research, data, and analysis for individuals and organizations who impact the lives of Nevada’s children, including educators, practitioners, policy makers, researchers, media, and other stakeholders. Information on this page includes information on children under 18 – immunizations, hospitalizations and mortalities, socio-emotional well-being, prevalence of physical and mental health conditions, and access to health care.

      Healthy Community Map of Northern Nevada

      Received the State of Nevada’s Silver Ace Award for outstanding Data -  The Healthy Community Map of Northern Nevada (HCM) is a collaborative project between the Community Health Alliance (a combination of HAWC and the former Saint Mary's Outreach Programs), University of Nevada Reno, and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. This website houses current data on population health status and health care utilization at the zip code level in Washoe County.

      Child Trends Data Bank

      The Child Trends DataBank examines and monitors more than 100 indicators that focus on risks and positive developments for children. For each indicator we summarize what the research says about its importance to children’s development, track trends over time and by subgroup, and highlight strategies likely to improve well-being. We also provide links to state, local, and international data. Our estimates come from reliable sources including federal reports and websites. Other resources in the indicators area include The Child Indicator newsletter and Facts at a Glance.

      The DPBH includes publications from Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Breastfeeds, Home Visiting, and more.  the health Statistics Portal includes information for custom queries on demographics and other factors.

      Center for Health Information Analysis for Nevada (CHIA)

      Various reports are also available for health care professionals and Nevada health consumers.

      U.S. Disability Statistics as part of Cornell University

      National and state-level reports presenting prevalence and relative economic status of people with disabilities.  Data is extensive from Health Insurance coverage, Veterans Service, State level reports on common issues, comparison by states, etc.

        CRIMINAL JUSTICE:

        US Department of Justice

        Data encompassing state and federal parole/probation, jails, inmates, arrest related deaths, emergency room data on intentional violence injuries, Tribal law enforcements, and jails in Indian country.  

        The Federal Bureau of Investigation

        Uniform Crime Reports are considered the most comprehensive analysis of violent crime and property crime in the nation. The annual publication compiles volume and rate of crime offenses for the nation, the states, and many cities and counties. It also includes arrest, clearance, and law enforcement employee data.
