As a state agency who supports other state agencies and community partners with federal grant funding opportunities, we do not award any grant funding. We help state agencies and community partners identify potential sources of grant funding to create, support, and sustain many types of programs that benefit Nevadans.
Funding Opportunities Listserv
The Nevada Grant Office manages a funding opportunity listserv to aid Nevada’s grant professionals with finding relevant grant opportunities. A few times a month, your organization will receive curated opportunities, that may include federal, state, foundation, and other private opportunities. If you'd like to subscribe, please visit the Grant Opportunity Listserv page.
If your organization awards or subawards funds, we encourage you to send announcements of opportunities to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may help spread the word.
For a complete list of recent opportunities sent to all the listservs, see this Excel file (December_02_ 2019).
Grant Opportunity Resources
This is the best place to search for federal government grants. Most government and foundation grants are for organizations, not for individuals. Use the search criteria to narrow the search results. Look through the titles, select any interesting or applicable funding opportunities, then read them to figure out whether you are eligible. The funding opportunity announcement will tell you who is eligible to apply for a grant.
This paid service is a comprehensive directory of foundations that make grant awards. Many libraries pay for this service, so check with your local branch. Librarians at the Nevada State Library have access to the Foundation Center Online database and can assist with research.
You can find information about financial help, including grants and loans, for individuals and organizations such as business.
The quiz is very comprehensive and a go-to tool when individuals (including students and veterans) are looking for any kind of governmental grant assistance.
Requests for Grant Research Assistance
If you have a specific grant project in mind for your organization (e.g., state agency, registered non-profit, local agency, county agency), the Grant Office can prepare a small selection of curated grant opportunities. These one-off requests are most helpful when an organization has a clear project in mind and is ready to evaluate specific funding opportunities as a good fit for the organization's mission and goals. If you would like assistance identifying potential grant opportunities, please email email@example.com
and we'll provide a form for you to complete so that we can begin the research process.
